Sample Book Insights: #1 The Christian church has often played a role in pushing away gay people, as many who are attracted to the same sex are raised in conservative Christian homes and are made to feel like monsters. #2 The question of homosexuality has caused me to rethink the church's stance on it. As I read the Gospels, I see people drawing near to Jesus, regardless of their status. The people who are most repelled by Jesus are the religious hypocrites. #3 There are only six passages in the Bible that seem to say that homosexual behavior is wrong. And even with those six, there is a massive debate about whether those passages can apply to monogamous, consensual, loving gay relations. #4 The debate is not about what the Bible says, but what the Bible means.
