I didn't participate in class, and my report cards said I didn't work or play well with others. But I had a daughter to raise, so I made it work. #2 I had always thought of myself as being a little odd, but I had a job, a child, and a husband, so I didn't think that being on the spectrum would apply to me. I was surprised to learn that being on the spectrum is similar to being shy. #3 As I began to read about Asperger's Syndrome, I realized that it was more than just a collection of social and communication problems.
